The Immutability of God

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Our Father has not left us on our own to live in this world. When Jesus ascended, He sent the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit (John 14:16; 16:7). In addition to the Comforter, God has given us His word, the Holy Bible (2 Timothy 3:16, 17), and the Spirit of Prophecy (2 Peter 1:19). With these things, we can learn about God and what He wants us to do.

Being that God never changes, we can trust that what was written 2,000 years ago in the Bible is still applicable today. Therefore, anyone or entity that seeks to change God’s word is defying God; Change is not in the domain of God’s character. Those who persist in that presumption has this doom:

“For I testify unto man every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book” (Revelation 22:18, 19, KJV).

Let us arm ourselves with the Word of God (Ephesians 6:11), and take heed lest any man deceive us (Matthew 24:4). Let us trust in the Word of God, for in doing so we have life; “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith” (Romans 1:17).
