Journals, Judgment and Justice

As we often journal to record, review and reflect on life, God has journals, in which He chronicles His most prized creation: humanity. His journals are so exhaustive that in examining them, the sum and nuances of each person’s motives, thoughts, deeds and the lack thereof are reconstructed (Revelation 20:12).

God has a journal on our anatomical idiosyncrasies (Psalm 139:16; Luke 12:7). He has a journal with the number of tears we have shed (Psalm 56:8). He has a journal with the good deeds we have done (Malachi 3:16; Nehemiah 13:14). He has a journal with the names of all the righteous (Revelation 13:8;20:12; Daniel 12:1; Exodus 32:32, 33). And God has a journal with the wicked deeds of men (Ecclesiastes 12:14; Matthew 12:36, 37). God has journals of which we know not. Without these records, God cannot be, “just and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus” (Romans 3:26). For in this controversy between good and evil, Satan purports that mankind can never keep God’s law (Selected Messages Book 3, 136.1), and their sinful propensities warrant the punishment reserved for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41).

Q&A with Elder Randy Skeete on The Books of Heaven

Therefore, to establish God’s justice, God’s journals are judged: beginning with the dead who claimed to be part of God’s house (1 Peter 4:17), then passing on to the living who claim a relationship with Jesus (The Investigative Judgment in the Writings of Ellen G. White, 8.2 – 8.4). The wicked are judged at a separate time: during the millennium (Revelation 20:3, 4). During that period, Christ is chief Judge and the righteous are his assistants helping to execute justice as they judge God’s journals before all the universe.

Stay tuned as we expound on the importance of self-examination.

-Thank You Jesus!

-Amen!
