A chill seems to raise the hairs on your body. Your eyes become glossy with the salty tears from bitter events. You wonder how the world, created in perfection, balanced and bonded by love could become so fractured and brutal.
August 04, 2019, Patrick Crusius is alleged to have killed twenty victims at a Walmart and shopping center in El Paso. As per The Washington Post’s “A mother died shielding her infant in El Paso. The father died shielding them both, family says” by Meagan Flynn and Rebecca Tan published August 05, 2019, parents Jordan and Andre were at Walmart getting decorations for their daughter’s sixth birthday party. And with them was their two-month-old baby.
Shots were fired.
Jordan, the mother, shielded her baby, and Andre, the father, shielded them both the family believes. Jordan’s blood sealed the baby and her body weight broke the infant’s fingers. But thank God, the baby was spared.
But both parents are dead. Their six-year-old daughter still can’t understand why mommy and daddy aren’t home. What a world of sorrow and woe we are living in! The hearts of men have become callused and dried of love, because the drought of sin has infected them; men’s hearts are waxing cold because iniquity abounds (Matthew 24:12)! Oh how deceitful and desperately wicked is the heart (Jeremiah 17:9)! Who can know it (ibid)!
Friends, today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). Now is the time to make our calling and election sure (2 Peter 1:10). Yes, we are living in perilous times (2 Timothy 3:1). These are the signs of the last days foretold in the Bible (2 Timothy 3:1-5). But if we live in Christ, we have the hope of eternal bliss when He comes again (Colossians 3:3). For then, God, who is Love, will forever reign (1 John 4:8; Exodus 15:18).
I grieved in my heart when I read this post. So much senseless murder. May God have mercy on us!
