Greetings Friends,
“Surely I come quickly”, says our King (Revelation 22:20). But, before the Savior of this world returns, there is a work for His people to do. In Matthew 24:14, the Bible speaks of a message that must, “be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; then shall the end come”. This message is called the “gospel of the kingdom” (Matthew 24:14), and is delineated in Revelation 14:6-12. Notice that in Revelation 14:6, an angel is said to, “fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people…” In other words, for God’s people to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom, we must be connected to God of heaven and earth. For heavenly agencies in conjunction with human ones will finish this work of the gospel.
In speaking of the task ahead of God’s people the prophetess, Ellen G. White, records:
When divine power is combined with human effort, the work will spread like fire in stubble. God will employ agencies whose origin man will be unable to discern. Angels will do a work which men might have had the blessing of accomplishing had they not neglected to answer the claims of God (Last Day Events, 207).
God is so confident in His people that He has endowed us with the task of spreading the message of His kingdom throughout every point of the globe, but He needs willing hearts and minds. As we near the end of time, we must devote our every being to His cause. O how easy the motion is to go with the currents of the world and fall like Babylon instead of standing like the Three Hebrew Boys (Revelation 14:8; Daniel 3:8-18)! But God, has heavenly angels assisting us and, “moving upon human minds to arouse investigation in the themes of the Bible” (Last Day Events, 207). Let us, “Submit [o]urselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from [us]” (James 4:7).
Let us finish this work of the gospel, and usher in the glorious kingdom of our Savior and Friend.
Amen.
