Mine eyes become wells of salty springs as I consider the mysterious misery of Job. Nothing had he done, but the right, to be targeted by the enemy. In preternatural anguish of existence, he invokes languish in the hearts of his friends, who upon seeing him, know him not. O God! What an experience! So steep was the spirit of sorrow that for seven days and seven nights, silence was sovereign in their assembly (Job 3:11-13).
And we ask, why? What could so possess the heart of Satan to without cause steal, kill and destroy? What could so sway the doors of men’s hearts to be open to Satan’s schemes and corroborate in the victimization of God’s innocent?
While we may never understand, we praise God that, “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [H]is purpose” (Romans 8:28).
